OMP KS-2X Kids' Karting Shoes Black (FIA)

The KS-2X is a youth karting shoe from OMP built around current FIA homologation requirements. Carrying the FIA 8877-2022 certification, it meets the technical standards for official FIA Karting competition, making it suitable for junior drivers moving from recreational circuits into regulated racing series. OMP engineered the construction to balance ankle stability with the foot mobility that karting pedal technique demands.

The upper extends above the ankle to support the joint and keep the foot properly positioned during high-frequency leg movements. Its primary surface is a high-resistance smooth material, supplemented by mesh inserts at the tongue area that allow air to circulate around the foot. Laser-cut ventilation openings near the ankle add a further airflow channel without compromising the structural integrity of the upper.

Closure relies on a lace system at the front combined with a hook-and-loop strap positioned horizontally across the upper ankle. The strap fastens inward, which minimises the risk of a loose end catching on pedals or chassis components - a detail relevant in the confined footwell of a kart. The heel section incorporates a rear gusset that permits a greater range of foot motion without restriction. The two-tone sole - black with a contrasting accent running along the lateral edge - contributes to overall flexibility during pedal operation.

The shoe is finished predominantly in black with graphite accents on the side panels and ankle area. The model designation "KS-2X" appears on the lateral wall, with a coloured accent on the letter X, and the OMP logo features on both the toe cap and the side panel of the upper. An FIA compliance label is positioned at the ankle. The unisex cut suits both boys and girls, and the model is available across six colourways, allowing coordination with a karting suit or helmet.
