The Recaro Velix 1 Kid is a forward-facing child seat designed to accommodate children from 15 months of age through to approximately 12 years old, covering a height range of 76 to 150 cm. The seat holds ECE R129 certification and attaches to the vehicle via an ISOFIX connection with a stabilising leg, providing a firm and secure fit without reliance on the car's own belt for anchorage.

The Gallant Grey version is finished in a deep, dark-grey tone with black accents on the lower shell and base. The seating surface and backrest are upholstered in a honeycomb-texture fabric that gives the interior a sporting character. The Recaro logotype appears on the headrest, backrest, and both lateral side shields. The harness straps are light grey, while the central buckle is black with a red release indicator. The rear shell incorporates an extensive honeycomb ventilation pattern to promote air circulation around the child's back, and the text "Adaptive Side Protection" is moulded into both sides of the rear panel. The base is black, featuring a deployable stabilising foot and visible ISOFIX anchors.

Protection is handled by Recaro's Adaptive Side Protection system, in which the lateral head and shoulder wings automatically widen to match the child's growth, maintaining properly fitted side impact shielding at every stage of use. For children between 76 and 100 cm, the seat uses a five-point HERO harness system engineered to prevent the straps from sliding out of position or twisting during a journey. From 100 cm upwards, the child may transition to the vehicle's own three-point belt in place of the internal harness, extending usable life up to the 150 cm limit.

The backrest recline is adjustable, allowing the seating angle to be set for alert travel or a more relaxed position on longer trips. The lightweight shell construction makes it practical to move the seat between two vehicles. The Recaro Velix 1 Kid covers the full span from early toddler stage through the end of the legal child restraint requirement, removing the need for intermediate seat replacements.
