The helmet carries full FIA 8859-2024 homologation, one of the most stringent closed-helmet certifications currently issued. This standard is required or accepted across a broad range of circuit racing and rally categories for adult competitors, and its recency ensures the R7 Sport remains eligible in events that have adopted the latest regulatory requirements.

The outer shell is finished in uniform matte black, with no excess graphics. A white oval badge bearing the Bell Helmets wordmark in red appears centrally on the shell, repeated on either side of the visor mechanism and once more at the rear. The R7 Sport model designation is displayed in white and red lettering on both sides of the shell. Subtle surface texturing is applied to the rear spoiler and lower shell zones, adding visual interest without clutter. The visor mechanism hardware is grey and black, with a red release button positioned on the left side.

The shell is constructed from a composite fibreglass layup that balances structural rigidity with manageable weight for its class. The SE07 visor is 3 mm thick and locks into position via the Smartlock system, which allows precise, tool-free adjustment and secure retention at any chosen opening.
